Virtus.pro Are Your Three-Time Summit Champions
Virtus.pro defeated Fnatic in the Grand Finals of Dota Summit 8 minor tournament to claim their third consecutive victory at events organized by Beyond the Summit studio.
DOTA Summit 8 was held on December 13-17 in Los Angeles. First, nine participating teams were placed into three groups with round-robin format. Then, the best team from each group advanced to the playoffs, while the second-placed teams qualified for the Wild Card stage, where they were joined by the team with the highest number of points across third-placed teams. Thus, the results of the group stage looked as follows:

Both Wild Card and Playoffs stages featured a sing-elimination brackets with best-of-three matches, with the Grand Finals of the playoffs being best-of-five. OG advanced to the playoffs by defeating Evil Geniuses (2-0) and compLexity (2-1). In the playoffs Virtus.pro outplayed Team Kinguin (2-0) and made it to the Grand Finals, where they faced Fnatic. The match ended in VP’s favour with the 3-1 score. Despite playing with ArtStyle, who is temporary replacing the team’s captain Solo, the team managed to win their third Summit event in a row and end the year on a high note.
