Virtus.pro Defeated Team Secret in the Grand Finals of The Kuala Lumpur Major

The first Dota 2 major of the season has completed with a victory of Virtus.pro. In the grand finals they defeated Team Secret with the 3:2 score, earning $350,000 in prize money and 4950 DPC Points.

As both Team Secret and Virtus.pro placed first in their groups, they started the playoffs stage in the upper bracket. Team Secret made it to the finals all the way through the upper bracket, where they defeated Vici Gaming (2:0), PSG.LGD (2:0) and Virtus.pro (2:1). In the first two rounds of the upper bracket Virtus.pro outplayed both Fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas with the 2-0 score. After losing to Team Secret in the winners’ finals they defeated Evil Geniuses in the lower bracket (2:0). In the grand finals Virtus.pro managed to outplay their opponents on the first, fourth and fifth maps.

The event was held on November 9th – 19th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the final days being played with live audience at the Axiata Arena. It featured 16 teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 Pro Circuit Points.
