2020 Worlds: Group Stage Results
This weekend concluded the group stage of 2020 League of Legends World Championship, determining eight participants of the playoffs stage – none of the North American teams managed to get out of group.
The group stage was played from October 3rd – 11th, featuring sixteen teams competing in four groups with a double round robin format and best-of-one series. The results are as follows:

The best two teams from each group will play in the single-elimination playoffs bracket, where all series will be best-of-five. The pairs for the quarterfinals looks as follows (all series will start at 11:00 AM UK time):
- Top Esports vs Fnatic (October 17)
- Suning vs JD Gaming (October 16)
- Gen.G Esports vs G2 Esports (October 18)
- DAMWON Gaming vs DRX (October 15)
2020 Worlds is being held in Shanghai, China – despite the pandemic, the grand finals will be held on October 31st at Pudong Football Stadium with live audience. Currently the matches are being held in a studio format.
