CS_Summit 6 Is the Next RMR Event for Europe and North America
The American tournament operator Beyond the Summit has announced cs_summit 6 – the Regional Major Ranking event for Europe and North America, which is scheduled for June 22nd – July 5th. The total prize pool of the event is $200,000, evenly split between two regions. Additional information on the event was not revealed.
In their official Twitter CS:GO account, Valve explained that this summer there won’t be ranking events in South America and Oceania. It remains unknown who will organize the tournaments for CIS and Asia. This fall, however, the RMR-events will be held in all six regions.
The first RMR-event was ESL One: Road to Rio, which concluded last week. The following teams placed first in their regions: Astralis (Europe), Team Spirit (CIS), Gen.G Esports (North America), BOOM Esports (South America), Renegades (Oceania), TIGER (Asia).
Earlier Valve postponed ESL One: Rio 2020 to November, making it the only major event of the year and increasing its prize pool to $2,000,000. The participants of the event will be determined through the series of online qualifying RMR-events.
