Buenos Aires set to host Counter-Strike Major in 2027

FiReSPORTS have officially confirmed the hosting of a Counter-Strike Major in Buenos Aires. The tournament will take place in June 2027 and will mark the return of the flagship event to South America.

FiReSPORTS noted that interest in Counter-Strike in Argentina rivals the country’s passion for football. The organizers promised to do everything possible to make the Major a landmark event for both local fans and the global scene.

Unofficial reports had previously suggested that the 2027 Majors would be held in Buenos Aires and Shanghai. Insider information also indicated that the hosting rights for the 2028 Majors were awarded to ESL and BLAST.

For Argentina, this will be the first Major in the country’s history. At the same time, FiREMAJOR Buenos Aires will be only the second Valve-sponsored event in the region after IEM Rio 2022. FiReSPORTS emphasized that the city can impress visitors with its cultural mix and the unique atmosphere created by local fans.
