Shopify Rebellion leaves the Dota 2 scene

Esports organization Shopify Rebellion has officially announced its departure from the Dota 2 discipline. The news was shared by the club's co-founder, TLO, who emphasized that the decision was not an easy one for the team.

Shopify Rebellion made its debut on the Dota 2 scene in 2022 with a roster that included well-known players such as Arteezy, Abed, and Cr1t. The team hoped to secure a spot among the top contenders, but over the course of two and a half years failed to win a single tier-1 tournament. Its best results included a second-place finish at DreamLeague 21, third at DreamLeague 19, and fourth at the Lima Major 2023.

In 2025, the team’s performance further declined: they didn’t reach the playoffs at any tier-1 event and failed to qualify for the most important tournament of the year — The International. At the time of disbandment, the roster consisted of Timado, Yopaj-, Davai Lama, Hellscream, and skem, with veteran BuLba remaining as head coach since the team's inception.

TLO highlighted that Dota 2 played a crucial role in the organization’s development, helping it reach the international spotlight and creating lasting memories. Despite stepping away, he did not rule out a possible return in the future and promised to continue following the scene and supporting the players.
