FURIA Emerge Victorious at DreamHack Open Summer North America
The Brazilian team FURIA Esports has emerged victorious in the North American division of DreamHack Open Summer 2020. In the tournament’s deciding series they defeated Cloud9 with the 2-1 score – they lost the first map Vertigo (11:16), however later won Nuke (19:16) and Inferno (16:11).
Earlier both teams placed first in their groups, while in the semifinals Team Liquid outplayed Team One (2-0) and FURIA defeated Chaos EC. The tournament’s winner received $35,000 in prize money and 100 qualification points for ESL Pro Tour, while the runner-up got $20,000 and 80 points.
DreamHack Open Summer 2020 North America was held on August 8th – 16th, with eight teams competing for a $90,000 prize pool. Earlier the event also concluded in Europe, where the first place was secured by the German team BIG.
