Chen "tom60229" Wei Lin becomes the world Hearthstone champion by defeating Frank "Fr0zen" Zhang in the grand finals of Hearthstone World Championship 2017, receiving $250,000 in prize money.
The tournament was held on January 18-21 at Center Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Sixteen participating players were divided into four GSL groups, two best players from each group advanced to the single-elimination playoffs bracket with best-of-five series. Tom60229 placed second in the Group A with the 2-1 score, later in the playoffs he defeated SamuelTsao (3-1) and Surrender (3-1). In the Grand Finals he faced Fr0Zen, which was able to win the first two games but failed to get the third one and lost 2-3.
Tom60229 is a Taiwan player, who started his career in 2014 and is a part of yoe Flash Wolves team. He qualified for the World Championship through the HCT Last Call slot from the Asia-Pacific region.
