Na`Vi Beat Virtus.pro In the Grand Finals of CS:GO Asia Championship 2018
Today a $300,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event CS:GO Asia Championship concluded in Shanghai. In the grand finals of the tournament Natus Vincere defeated Virtus.pro 2-1 and received $150,000 in prize money.
The event took place on June 14-18. The line-up consisted of five invited teams – Team EnVyUs, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Heroic, Virtus.pro and MVP PK (as the winners of CS:GO Asia Summit 2018), as well as two winners of Chinese qualifiers – VG.FlashGaming and TyLoo. In the group stage they were seeded into two GSL groups with best-of-three series. Top teams from each group advanced to the semifinals, while the teams placed 2nd and 3rd made it to the quarterfinals. The playoffs was held in a single-elimination format with best-of-three series.
Both Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro placed first in their groups, where Na`Vi defeated Team EnVyUs and Ninjas in Pyjamas, while VP managed to beat TyLoo and Heroic. In the semifinals Virtus.pro were stronger then TyLoo (2-0), and Natus Vincere defeated Team EnVyUs (2-0). In the grand finals all three maps were played: VP started strong by defeating Na`Vi 16-3 at Dust II, but later lost 4-16 at Nuke and 6-16 at Train.
