G2 Esports Are the Champions of Six Major Paris 2018
The European team G2 Esports managed to defeat their North America opponents from Evil Geniuses in the grand finals of the major Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege event Six Major Paris 2018, receiving $150,000 in prize money and qualifying for Six Invitational 2019.
The event was held on August 13-19 in the capital of France and featured 16 teams from all over the world competing for a $350,000 prize pool. First, the teams were split into four GSL groups with best-of-three matches, and then top two teams from each group made it to the single-elimination playoffs bracket.
Both G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses placed first in their groups: G2 Esports defeated Mock-it Esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas in Group B, while EG managed to outplay Element Mystic and Millenium in Group C. In the playoffs G2 finished both their series against Millenium and Team Secret with the score of 2-0, while EG defeated NiP (2-1) and Rogue (2-0). In the final series G2 Esports looked far more confident then EG, winning the series 3-0.
