Splyce Are the Champions of HaloWC 2018 Orlando Open
The Grand Finals of the first LAN-event of the current HaloWC professional season featured two North American teams competing for the championship, prize money and qualification points. Splyce came out on top of the best-of-seven series by defeating their opponents from OpTic Gaming with the 4-2 score, receiving $20,000 in prize money and 25,000 qualification points.
Both of the future finalists finished first in their respective groups, thus advancing to the winners bracket. Splyce managed to reach the grand finals through the winners bracket by defeating Oxygen Supremacy (3-0), Team Reciprocity (3-0) and Team EnVyUs (4-1), while OpTic Gaming defeated Str8_Rippin in the quarterfinals but dropped to the losers bracket after being outplayed by Team EnVyUs in the semifinals. In the lower bracket they faced Team Reciprocity (4-0) and avenged Team EnVyUs (4-2). The grand finals concluded with the 4-2 score in favour of Splyce.
